Young Life Australia is committed to protecting your privacy and we recognise the trust you are placing in us through your dealings with us. Any information that you provide to Young Life remains private and is only used for the purposes outlined below. The identity of any person or organisation who contacts us or is employed by us is kept confidential. We don't rent, sell or exchange our contact lists.
Under law your rights to privacy are also protected. The Privacy Act 1988 and general law place strict requirements on us to treat any information you give us as confidential.

Young Life is committed to protecting the privacy all supporters, individuals, employees, stakeholders, clients, Government and non-Governemnt organisations.
What information is collected and how is it used
Unless you choose otherwise, you do not have to provide any personal information. If you do choose to provide information, then we typically ask you for the following details, depending on your interests.
contact information (name, address, e-mail)
Financial information such as bank account and credit card details
This information is collected to ensure that we can process donations, provide receipts, send information about Young Life and to get in touch with our supporters from time to time. Sometimes we collect some more personal information about you such as what church you attend; your age; your professional profile etc. This information is used so we can notify you of any developments within Young Life that may be of specific interest to you. This information is only collected with your full consent and you may always decline to provide that information to us.
The information we collect is always treated as strictly confidential and is never disclosed to a third party without your prior consent, or unless required by law. We never make our database available to other organisations.
All Young Life offices to whom we send your personal information, are committed to the same standards of protection for your privacy as Young Life Australia.
While we take reasonable precaution to ensure the confidentiality of your personal information you provide to us, we accept no responsibility for any unauthorised access to or dissemination of this information

How you can access and correct the information held
It is our policy to give access to our supporters, individuals, employees, stakeholders, clients, Government and non-Governemnt organisations all the information we hold on them. This is consistent with our commitment to transparency.
You may access your information at any time. If you would like to know what information we hold about you please contact our Privacy Officer. If you discover your information is incorrect, incomplete or out of date please notify our Privacy Officer and we will try to correct or add the information as soon as possible. How this information is held
The security of your information is important to us. When we have collected information about you it cannot be seen or modified by anyone else. We make all reasonable efforts to ensure that your information is stored securely - both in electronic and physical forms.
Where we use external contractors, such as a mailing house to send you our mail, any personal information disclosed to the contractor remains confidential to us.
Any information which we no longer require is destroyed. An exception to this is may be the retention of the information for data analysis. However if this occurs then the information will be retained in a form which does not allow you to be identified from that information
Complaint and dispute resolution procedures
If you believe we have breached your privacy in any way, or you would like to discuss any issues about our privacy policy please contact our Privacy Officer.
We will try to satisfy any questions that you have and correct any errors on our part.
